Dear Jay,

On behalf of the Northeast Public Power Association, I want to thank you for your participation in our annual Safety & Operations Conference and Expo last week in Fitchburg. We were very pleased to have so many of our affiliate members and industry colleagues present for this event, and we hope that you found it to be worth your time and investment as well. In planning this year’s conference and Expo, we consulted with a number of our affiliate members to solicit their suggestions on how to make this NEPPA event as worthwhile as possible for our exhibitors. We incorporated many of their suggestions, and plan to do the same thing when we undertake planning for next year’s conference.

I would also like to extend the same invitation to each of this year’s exhibitors. I welcome any suggestions you have which might enhance the value of this event for your company.

Thank you again for your participation. NEPPA greatly appreciates your support and we look forward to seeing you at next year’s Safety & Operations Conference and Expo.

Mr. Jay Sturm:

The Construction Equipment Maintenance Association would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the presentation to our group for our October meeting. We had discussed earlier this year about having someone speak to the group about aerial truck and lift safety. This was the perfect opportunity to introduce you to our group and have you inform us of some of those issues.

We appreciated the information you provided us very much including the review of OSHA and its requirement. This discussion on the American National Standards Institute with regards to standards and procedures was also helpful to us. Most enjoyed the examples of incidents you provided and the means by which they could have been avoided.

Our group appreciated your presentation very much. We would welcome you back in the future if your schedule allows. If you are interested in becoming part of our group, our contact information has been included. We wish you the best for a safe and happy holiday season.

Dear Jay,

On behalf of the New Hampshire Department of Transportation I would like to express our appreciation for you participation in our May 6th Rigging & Cranes seminar. I am sorry you all had to rush through your presentations, and we all wish we could allot more time to everyone, but we truly appreciate your working with us on this and making the best of the time you had…!

It was a pleasure meeting you that day Jay, and we are looking forward to seeing you at the June 17th Rigging & Crane program. Please call any time if you need anything (271-6799).

Dear Jay,

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to invite the Providence Area Office to the Crane’s Safety Institute. It was a great experience for my staff. You really took the time to explain in detail crane functions, and how to operate and work around them safely.

The highlight of the day for everyone was being able to participate in a crane inspection. It was great how you were able to tie the classroom work into a hands on experience. Despite the cold weather nobody could be pulled away from the crane and the interesting stories you shared.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your knowledge on cranes with us. The valuable information learned will be useful to my staff throughout their careers.

Once again, thank you for sharing your expertise with the Providence OSHA staff.

Sincerely,

Patrick J. Griffin
Area Director

Dear Mr. Sturm,

On behalf of the OSHA Providence Area Office I would like to thank you for your assistance with a recent outreach activity. The event was a seminar for safety directors and facilities engineering staff from hospitals and universities located in Rhode Island. Your session, which focused on construction crane safety from a site supervisors’ perspective was exactly what the attendees had requested. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experience with this group. Although they do not usually operate mobile cranes themselves, they often have them on site and the knowledge you imparted will be valuable to them as a basic understanding of important issues associated with crane operation.

I sincerely appreciate your commitment to occupational safety and efforts to improve safety in Rhode Island.

Sincerely,
